Connecting the classroom with the realities of police work.
Beyond the Criminal Justice Classroom was created to encourage conversations among criminal justice educators, students, and law enforcement professionals.
Our purpose is simple: to explore how classroom learning connects to the thinking, writing, and decisions involved in police work.
Through practical articles and fictional training scenarios, we aim to give readers opportunities to ask better questions, consider different perspectives, and practice explaining what they know.
Meet Edward Brown
Edward Brown is the founder of KLYVOREK and KLYVOREK Institute. With more than 30 years of experience in law enforcement and public safety, including work as a metro Atlanta police sergeant and investigator, he has seen how important clear documentation is to the people who rely on it.
His experience helped inspire a simple idea: students and future officers should have opportunities to practice organizing facts and explaining their decisions before they face the pressures of a real investigation.
